Interest group attraction broken
In new update PDX apparently broke mechanics, related to interest groups attraction. Before we had clear system, in which interest groups gradually get more powerfull as we get more buildings with group-related jobs. Now industrialists stay marginalized for entire game even in heavily industrialized countries. Just start as France or any other great power and watch how industrialists and Intelligentsia become nothing in few weeks. People constantly leave them, like drowning ship. No matter what I do, Industrialists stay with 6% political power at best. Intelligentsia sometimes get better after civil war, if most of other factions get slaughtered, but not for long. Rural folk, on the other hand, became new political engine and for some reason stay in power no matter what.

In my 1.1 game as Sweden, my Industrialists started at 1.5%, but I keep Bolstering them and building Iron, Wood, Infrastructure, Gov Admin Centers (for Institutions from new Laws), and Industries, and by 1846 I had them up to 22.7% with the highest Clout of any IG. Along with taking any Event Choices to favor the Industrialists.

Which is when I ran into a weird Bug/New Game Mechanic. What happened (I eventually figured out) was that I gave France an Obligation several years earlier as a Sway to support Sweden trying to Puppet Denmark, which succeeded in making Denmark My Puppet.

Eventually France "requested", i.e. demanded by using their Obligation from me, that Sweden join their Customs Union. Since breaking an Obligation has BAD Diplomatic Reputation affects, I accepted and joined their ♥♥. With the intention of leaving the ♥♥ in a couple of years.

Which is when the Bug struck: over the next 2 weekly adjustment cycles, the Industrialist IG Clout crashed all the way to 0.6% !!!

If I do NOT accept the ♥♥ (and pay the penalties for breaking an Obligation), the Industrialist Clout does NOT crash drop. So I know that entering the French ♥♥ caused the sudden large drop of Industrialist Clout.

I got Pan Nationalism in 1852 to start forming Scandinavia, and by 1855 (when I researched Civilizing Mission) and Scandinavia has finished Forming, the Industrialists are back down to 9.5% , see Clout graph in screenshot.

Part of the drop in Clout is due to merging in a lot of additional Pops (of closely related cultures from Denmark and Norway) during the Formation of Scandinavia, who had a much lower % of Industrialists.

In this game, I concentrated my Tech Research in Society Techs aimed at both early colonization of Africa and the Techs needed to support this and on getting to Pan Nationalism to form Scandinavia. My 2nd Law passed was Colonial Resettlement, so I started colonizing in Africa very early, in the late 1830s. I also conquered Benin and Oyo early. I wanted to get started in colonizing Africa, before Great Britain and France made it difficult to do much colonizing in Africa.

So my Industrialization efforts (of Sweden itself) suffered a little while, but I now have a much larger Country to work with and a decent start in colonizing Africa. Gaining Benin and Oyo and then other colonies opened up a lot more rural sites, agricultural and mining (as well as their large populations), and Forming Scandinavia added in Denmark and Norway and their resources as well as Pops, as well to develop. I also have Customs Unions (with Scandinavia as head) with several of the North Western German Minor States.

Most of my early Production Techs and Military Techs came from via Tech Spreading, with a few important ones researched directly.

Scandinavia #9 in World in 1855 as a Major Power.

I will now continue to push the Industrialist IG to regain the lost Clout.

That did not take as long as I expected ( it happened rather quickly)
