Pay extra close attention to popularity of a leader of a political group. Make sure you pick events that either boost the Industrials leader's popularity, or the group attraction rating for them.
Early game it's just a lot faster to spend the authority on supressing groups to encourage members to want to leave the group, which increases the pool of pop groups with political involvement waiting to join a group.
AFAIK there aren't any laws that give them stacked clout buffs so you basically have to buff your bolster ability (outlaw dissent etc) while using legislation that debuffs other IG's.
On the bright side they're fairly easy to please. Give them an oligarchy with child slaves and they'll stay happy.
Honestly really pissed, I didn't pay full price to be a beta tester.
