Issues with Paradox Launcher V2

Ive been having issues getting my game to run. My download of the Paradox Launcher is not working, and I've been getting a error when trying to. The message i get is:

RunDLL

There was a problem starting
C:\Windows\Installer\MSIB1BB.tmp

C:\Windows\Installer\MSIB1BB.tmp is not a valid Win32 appilication.

I am requesting help in solving this issue so that I can return to playing the game.

Do you have a cracked install of Windows? Is this a cracked copy of the game?
I usually see RunDLL errors in these instances from cracked software but it might also be something else. Worth making sure, cause if it is, it can often times not even matter what support we can give to try and fix this if it's cracked.

Stuff like this usually happens with cracked software because the software contains a virus that your AV will remove but there's a registry file left over. With your AV removing the virus/contaminated file, the game is missing a required file to launch.

I don't believe I have a cracked install of Windows 11, it was a install from a media device after I replaced my ssd since the previous one got corrupted. I purchased the game through steam, and my game was working fine with the previous ssd, so I don't think that my game is a cracked copy.

The next thing would be to make sure your Windows is properly up to date. Run Windows Updates. Let it download and install some updates, restart your PC and repeat this a couple of times as needed until there are no more updates left.

Does victoria3.exe work if you start it directly from the binaries folder in the game installation?

It worked once, I'll need to try again to make sure.

AndrewT from paradox tech support recommended the following to somebody with a similar problem[forum.paradoxplaza.com]:

Go into that c:\windows\Installer\ folder and delete the entire contents - they are all temporary files. Then try the install again. Note that folder is hidden, to see it you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

I updated my windows, and after that the launcher was functioning properly, and after I reinstalled my game everything seems to work fine.
