Economy keep breaking because of civil wars
Sorry if this subject has already been mentioned but here's something that really annoys me, maybe I don't get it so please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm playing belgium and developped a free trade economy. As I don't have many harbours, I'm highly dependant on the french and prussian market to import and export resources. EACH time they get a civil war (so basically every 2 years, cause it's the #1 hobby to be radical in Victoria 3). My trade routes became inactives, I lose around 25% of my gpd and my SOL lose 5 points.
To summarize it : I'm broke.

There might be a civil war, no problem but one of two things :
- Less AI civil wars so at least you may be able to recover from one crisis to another.
- I'm trading with a market, I don't care if it's my old capitalist friend or the new communist one, as long as they are from the same market ! When a civil war happens in a country, you should have trade routes settled with the new country at a level that covers the lost from the first one.

why are there so many civil wars? are you constantly swaping governments? are you over taxing? normally you get radiacals from changing government policies quickly while your standard of living drops. I get them when i play spain a lot because they are reactionaries and if you want to expand quickly you start passing laws like laizee fair

Those aren't my civil wars, I'm talking about Ai's civil wars.
I also have radicals (around 60% of my pop) but it's under control.

Yes and no, i could say.
More like a need for desesperate society change because of philosophy works, coupled with new working standards.
The "Industrial revolution" changed the way economy relative power were calculated. From an agriculture level, to an industrial one (coal and steel)

A lot happend in this time period and forged our actual world

One lesson I learned is that if you are dependent on somebody else's custom union, you are extremely vulnerable. I lost a game because France cut me out of their customs union, and I just couldn't recover.

That said, the AI should not be bombing out like this. Hoping for AI improvements - I don't think it's *that* hard to make the AI basically competent. In the meantime, there are mods, although I haven't tried them yet.

Yes, but not every 2 to 5 years in France and Prussia. Also, it didn't stopped countries from developping their gdp : That's my problem. It's the great depression twice a decade in belgium !
