Any way to reduce infamy faster?

Makes it almost impossible to play in the late game. I started as small South American country, got to the top, and now if I want to get more territories I will have to wait like 12 years for infamy to go back to 0, because all the plays give too much of it. For example if I want to make USA a dominion of mine, it'll give me 195 infamy which will immediately make whole world want to hunt me down. Is there any way to reduce that number or make infamy tick down faster?

High Influence and releasing nations...I believe are the only ways to bring it down.

Also rulers can have traits which help reduce infamy or make it take longer

Also is banning slavery in other states gives something to your own state? What the benefit of doing it?

wait for an interest group conspiracy event to occur or force a revolution and lose on purpose :)
