How to improve a countries attitude towards me?

Hello all.
I am playing as Prussia and am improving relations with Hanover, which is going well.
They are still cautious in attitude due to the size of my military.
How can I improve they're attitude?

They view you as a threatening force because you can form the North German Confederacy which includes annexing them, it is hard to improve their view of you especially when they leave the union with GB and have Bremen, Hamburg and Oldenburg under a customs union lead by themselves. You can start to bankroll them to gain further improvement but cannot undeclare your interest in that region (which reduces your threat) as it's your core region.
