Who else Here uses this game to paint the map by building an empire and striving to keep all their population happy?

In my first Prussian game I made the mistake of conquering and incorporating 1/3 of Africa as well as a few islands around Australia without having the proper laws or bureaucracy for it and I didn't figure out what was wrong until it was too late.

What did you do in the end?

My inner gamer is not proud to say this but I gave up around 1890 after my country blew up in a revolution by the royals and military after trying to dethrone the Crown. I could perhaps have fixed things in particular by simply not incorporating 20+ colony states at once but a lot of the African colonies were already part of my country and I had a bad mixture of laws and industry choices.
