When can we expect a fix?
For such a known problem should be a big flag on the game description, so no one with that issue is going to buy it.

yes, it is so annoying

Thing is, it isn't technically an issue, you just have old ass hardware below the minimum specs. The specs even list AVX as a requirement, https://i.imgur.com/xlVdjqY.png

Sorry, but you´re missing the point. Yes, its in the requirements. But AVX is outdated and every other modern game is running perfectly and there requierements are much higher. Paradox is simply using an total unnecessary technology.

Find a post 2011 used CPU for your motherboard, here is your fix.

If the tech is still supported on newer CPU's, it isn't outdated, literally every CPU since 2011 has it. What is outdated however is your hardware.

Considering that list of CPU's lists unreleased CPU's, that's blatantly false. Unless you can provide proof, you're just making stuff up. If you are talking about how the newer Intel CPU's don't have AVX-512 support, AVX-512 is completely separate from AVX and AVX2.

Can they really not just create an opt-in beta so that we can play without AVX? I love how this game is, but I can't even launch the product that I paid $50 for. My hardware can run other games just fine, so I don't get why this amalgamation of all of those other products can't be run, while CK3, EU4, HOI4, and Stellaris do it just fine.

Because this game happens to use instructions that are contained within the AVX instruction set, that's why. It's not something they can just flip the switch on, they would need to code whatever is using it in a different way so that it doesn't use one of those instructions.

What are you talking about. My computer is 2 years old and doesn’t have AVX support.

Then you must have a ♥♥♥♥ processor then, cause only ♥♥♥♥ processors from the past few years don't have it, https://i.imgur.com/JHzZ6Kw.png

i've found a solution to launch even without AVX tech on my old Intel PCU I7:
SDE is a program to emulate AVX. SDE target the program you want to emulate as if you had AVX
download last INTEL SDE https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/license/pre-release-license-agreement-for-software-development-emulator.html
extract folder and place it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Victoria 3\binaries
next create shortcut from sde.exe (extracted to binaries folder)
go to properties on this shortcut:
target must be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Victoria 3\binaries\sde.exe" -hsw -- "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Victoria 3\binaries\victoria3.exe"
start in muste be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Victoria 3\binaries"

launch it as admin...

The game will take long time to configure (45 min) sometimes with 100% CPU. After 50%...
Next the game run correctly.
