Yeah i solved my "rubber" issue by beating French over and over again in africa until my eco was happy ... (i own A LOT down there)
Then again, even with no oil I was hitting #3 GDP as Finland, so oil economy isn't really needed. Just a shame that some of the end-game tech becomes pointless without decent supply of oil.
You can squeeze out a bit more oil using whaling ships if you havent maxed your capacity on those. I almost want to invade canada just for their whaling industry, they are the 2nd producing of oil.... at 400. :(
I dont have venezuelas oil fields or anything in the middle east yet. Seemed like a waste to go to war with a large economy.
Strangely there is a large one in japan as well lol. I just figured out how to use the map to find them. Of course it means they have to have discovered it already.
Click the market click oil and make sure the potential production is clicked the magnifying glass, just picked up the ones in bolivia cuz i'm scary :D
One thing that this game really need are foreign investments. because If I'm not mistaken you are force to get some resources by conquest or by colonization. This way they can implement westernization.
Yeah i agree ... invest in industry in a foreign market would help them develop it so you are able to import what you need
Late game is literally just conquest of oil producing provinces and then building them up
but it's never enough... never enough...
Was in GB economic sphere and even though they controlled fields upon fields of undeveloped rubber plantations (the price of rubber was through the roof) they refused to develop them. It forced me, as Belgium, to engage in some sketchy activities to meet my rubber demands.
