If you try to not waste resources, always have some infamy burning off, never let cash reserves fill up, etc... To play as efficiently as possible and dominate the world then it can take a few days to get there.
If you just max speed 5, play sloppily, let construction queues get empty, let infamy reach 0, let cash reserves fill up, etc.. You can basically watch the world do their own thing and end the game in a couple of hours.
If you generally keep it to yourself, just build factories and trade with the great powers, never get threatening towards their positions they will happily leave you alone, or even get in your side to defend against any foreign invaders, so you also can, totally, just skip time if you want to.
Won't get very powerful doing so tho. It's kinda like playing as a duke of a giant empire in CK and watching time fly, never scheming, never trying to get more claims, never aiming for the throne, never doing any wars.
