System requirements

Hi guys,
i'm not sure, if my Laptop would meet the system requirements properly enough, to play the game with at least "acceptable" optics and performance. I think, my system ranges a little above the minimal requirements, though.
Here are the hard facts: Intel Core i7 2.5Ghz, 8GB DDR2 RAM, Win 8.1, Geforce GTX 860M.
What do you think, could it be playable? Is there anyone with nearly similar stats?

The most important part: Check if your CPU supports AVX.
If yes, then you should be able to run it.
If not - no way.

In theory if the specs are anything to go by, but it won't run very nicely, also you will probably only be able to play the early game as with most Paradox games it becomes more performance intensive the longer you play.

Upgrade time, also your OS is out of date for the game as-well, but it might still work.

That CPU and RAM will probably just choke. DDR2? That's almost 20 years out of date.

Maybe it's DDR3, my laptop is about 7 years old and was a medium pic back then. I don't know... unfortunately i'm absolutely not into hardware... sadly...
Intel i7 should do well with AVX, at least after what i googled today.
I nearly expected what Heutron @Heutron said - it could run, but not very nice and not for very long. I guess, i'll just wait until next year, when a new laptop is planned.

You can play with it
i've find a solution to launch even without AVX tech on my old Intel PCU I7:
SDE is a program to emulate AVX. SDE target the program you want to emulate as if you had AVX
download last INTEL SDE https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/license/pre-release-license-agreement-for-software-development-emulator.html
extract folder and place it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Victoria 3\binaries
next create shortcut from sde.exe (extracted to binaries folder)
go to properties on this shortcut:
target must be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Victoria 3\binaries\sde.exe" -hsw -- "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Victoria 3\binaries\victoria3.exe"
start in muste be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Victoria 3\binaries"

launch it as admin...

The game will take long time to configure (45 min) sometimes with 100% CPU. After 50%...
Next the game run correctly.
