haven't seen the US civil war once despite a couple runs now, a little surprised to say the least. Vic 2 had a very firmly scripted progression for that so it's a little strange that it's not in this.

Well - if playing as the US you can come upon an event:
You either abolish slavery or have a civil war.
As it is in America, it would be an American Civil war.
Yay...?

The game is not railroaded towards them. Though German unification can require a push for alsace-lorraine and therefore a Franco-Prussian War.

As for ACW, currently, dodging it is easy but they said they will make it far more likely or maybe even inevitable

Wait, there isn't any major historical event ?

I don't like railroaded events like this. If I manage to get the USA to abolish slavery in a stable fashion, why would the ACW occur?

Events like the ACW and WW1 should occur organically as the game plays out, not forced by an event, unless it's something that is set to occur at the very beginning of the game, such as Central America breaking up.

There is a mod on the workshop for ai, mainly fixes ecnomy but in the rules it mentions how it can effect research such as pushing Prussia to go for german nationalism. I imagine this can probably help more of these events occur. Though the civil war, is implemented, but its a bit odd at the moment.

Im not saying it should, but a massive military build up in europe leads to nothing
