Eternal war with 0.00 score on both sides

I got in war as a defense partner and so war has been going for 20 years with no change, its all 0.00. Will there ever be a white peace or something?

Have you take control part of the enemy's territory or capital? I'm not sure either but it should have something to do with the land you occupy

It just doesnt progress. I defend as a small nation versus prussia.

It won't go below zero unless you or them have some territory of one of the claimed states or each other's capital.

They could still get low enough to allow you to offer a white peace that they'll accept if they go enough into debt, but otherwise that war will never end unless you capitulate.

Capitulating will give them whatever wargoals they have even if they normally would not be able to do it, but it will not give them anything that isn't in the wargoals.

yesterday I play as great Qing fight russia, I can't managed to push into their capital, only took over some small territory near the border, then their war support rate start to drop to negative, and I won. Maybe the progress is link to country financial situation or army death rate?

but of course push into their land is easiest way to low their war support rate but it will be hard since you're playing a small nation

My guess is that you don't have access to their land and are likely going to need to push through another territory to get there.

Prussia wants to get Hamburg, which iam in a defence alliance with. They built up at my border, because they cant reach Hamburg, they never advance the front. Its just a cold war. They are 10M into warcost, maybe they will default. Can the AI default?
