will this game be as easy to read and play as CK 3?
my first paradox game was CK 2, and I learned to play it. But to be honest it was definitely a struggle watching hours of youtube videos to understand the interface and how to do the various gameplay aspects.

CK 3 felt really good to play and I was able to jump right into it without learning the interface or anything related to the game before play.

Does victoria 3 look like the U.I and the general systems look like they will be helpful to easing the player into the game? Or does the game look like it will be super complicated for someone new to the series?

If you ask me (I have been playing PDX games since Darkest Hour: A Hearts of Iron game and EUII) It will probably be much easier for a newer player to pick up Victoria 3 than it would be to pick up Victoria 2 or Crusader Kings 2, Though certain systems may still be complicated due to their actual use, So as far as I am seeing, It will be much easier for a newer PDX Gamer to pick up.

I would hope it's easier to pick up than Victoria 2 lol. Isn't victoria 2 the hardest game to play out of all of pdx games.

I'm expecting and hoping it is a little harder to play than ck 3, since the depth of the system of victoria 2 seemed very deep and I would love to see those translated to the new game.

It probably will be due to the AI not being hopefully as Stupid as it was in CK3, With Victoria 3 you need a little bit more Strategy into where you place your Armies and how you fight a War and such, CK3 was just Build an Army, Raid, Declare War, Win, Conquer, This needs more Economy and such to even get close to a War.

Think of as a More advanced version of Hearts of Iron 4 with Colonization and the Build up to the First World War.

ok, The game takes place between 1836 and 1936, so technically it covers the time period of WWI. Now, as this is a game History tends to leave off when you press start. World War 1 may or may not happen, or may happen prior to the Historical dates. It may involve different Countries. Perhaps Prussia does not form Germany, perhaps Russia invades Europe, perhaps any combination of things. So while the game covers the time period as you play it things may not happen exactly as they did in reality.

CK2 was a strategy game, CK3 is a dumbed down shiny clicker. Vic3/2 is the same.

Victory 3 is getting the "next-generation" PDX treatment, which means yes, all the same accessibility features they've added in to CK3, are coming to V3. You can see this in their developer videos and videos of the game leak.

One would say the jump from V2 to V3 is more dramatic than for CK2 to CK3 honestly, given how wildly unwelcoming V2 is.

isn't V2 widely agreed upon to be the most difficult to play "modern" pdx game?

I wouldn't describe Vic 2 as a 'modern' game but let's be fair and consider it as such. I think that was true twelve years ago when it was launched. It was more sophisticated than EU3, HOI2 and CK1 for sure.

How Vic 2 stacks against their modern games though? I don't think so. EU4, CK3 and HOI4 were all more sophisticated on launch. But, even if Vic was not a particularly successful game sales-wise, I would argue that no other game has had such an influence on their other games. people have been clamouring for Vic's internal gameplay in their other titles, in particular POPS.

I find Vicky 2 easier to understand than CK 2 the CK. 2 ui was very unwelcoming for me 😅

Everything about this game is simple other than the economy. Though the economy is pretty easy as well to keep stabilized after you get going.

CK3 UI is great, from what i seen Vicky3 UI is very similar and with greater overlays of the map. So yes i think the game will be easy to read and for play well, its an unique strategy game depends on how familiar you are with this.
