World Conquest Runs?

Sure the game's main focus is an economic simulation with capitalism but if you are not dominating the world what are you doing with yourself? Also provides a way to have clean borders.

sure it is fun to conquer the world a few times but i think that after a few play sessions it gets boring. fortunately there are plenty of RP possibilities in most paradox games.

so, to answer your question, i will mostly be doing RP sessions where i set different goals than conquering the world. what those goals will be will change from game to game.

It MAY be more possible with the new diplomacy system not limiting you with what you can take in warscore but in how many demands you can make, but I'm not sure how the other systems will interact with it. We'll have to see.

I've never thought of the game as being a world domination game.
To me it sounds more like a really fun and interesting society simulator (which is why I'm looking forward to it).
Will I end up taking part in world events? Well, last time I played Vicky 2 I had decided, playing as Sweden, to stay out of the worlds big events and just focuse on building a great society, minding my own business. However things escalated and I ended up helping the U.S.A. put down that pesky little southern uprising as well as getting embroiled in the Boxer Rebellion on the side of China.

Still, my main focus will be, as always, to build a perfect and advanced society.

I mean it sounds like a "fun" kinda goal for players who just want to get so good at the game they can play the smallest country and conquer the entire world in the least amount of time possible. For most of us though we'd be happy with some moderate ambitions, territorial or not, alongside some quality roleplay as glorious republican Spain.

You will have to go past the infamy limit. Due to the new combat mechanics, it's not exactly viable unless you have a superior force to the rest of the world combined. I guess you'd have to start steamrolling from day 1 as Britain or Russia to have a decent shot.
