On Tuesday The King's Surveyor went live on Steam. Three days later it has passed 2,500 wishlists, GameTrailers and IGN picked up the teaser, and people have been super supportive! Thank you. This is a solo project, and that number means it has a real audience that I'm building for.

For anyone who just found it: you are the King's Surveyor, flung far from home by something ancient, with a torch, a sword and a map that fills in as you explore. The job is to survey the valley, study what its makers left behind, and find the way back. Combat is there and you will need it, but the spine of the game is the surveyor's work: climb high, get the lay of the land, study it, and learn how to master it.

The look is the game's own. It runs on an engine I wrote from scratch over the last year, built to make a modern screen behave like the tube I grew up with, so light lingers and bright things leave a trail.

What's next: more of the valley, more of the surveyor's tools, and a demo when it is ready to be judged. Follow the page and you will see it first. Looking forward to questions and discussion with you about the game!
