To check this, start a new game on another server. If everything is fine on the other server, you can fly to another planet and live without problems ))
I mean hanging into rocks (like floating) does also exist in multiplayer mode though there is an easy solution.
Just craft some foundations or even columns and place them right underneath yourself while floation.
In most cases this fixes the problem, but be aware that it won´t work, if you are near a city or other player`s buildings.
In order to get your stuff back you need to press the key to open the remote inventory.
This is a separate key you need to assign first in the options menu :
Setting => Keybinding => Access Other`s Inventory
Regarding your crashing issue.
This game is not really optimized when it comes to performance, so you should try a different setting in your graphics settings like medium or even low to see if it gets better with the crashes.
As already posted many times in this forum the developers unfortunately abandoned the pc version and focused mainly on the mobile version, even though they stated on their mobile website that pc did not have been abandon yet, but will be progressed at a later time (not sure if this is believable or not).
If you play in single player mode try multiplayer cause I can´t stress enough, even the issues you mention exits this game still is really awesome.

Edit: Sorry. Did found one, on the DLC map my gorgon npc's all spawned under the mesh. Did some research on forums and found a workaround for it.
Unless you find a private server running the game, don't bother with multiplayer. Most likely you won't make it at that point, seeing the frustration created from playing a game that ended development years ago.
Instead of having a heart attack, read some forums beforehand.
even devs did admit that it is in horrible state and that they refuse to even support this game and help to players. for example transfer is still broken and you can lose everything, even your char... devs literally wrote that they arent able to fix it and that they will not help with this issue nor compensate players when they lose everything.
welcome into classic behavior of Snail and Wildcard. their other games are the same bugged mess (Ark, Atlas and few more). btw? dont get mistaken by fake company name - they use few of them to confuse players as a damage control to make them think that it is different company, that WC, because everyone know already shady WC practice.
Thank you for your reply! I realized that I was unable to damage mobs due to the game settings I had been playing around with. I fixed the issue and immediately ran into another bug with lights in the sky, which I was also able to fix with the settings. When I was unable to get my items back from my body though, I was sometimes able to get it to work normally, and I could still use E for that. The button to open another players inventory doesn't seem to have any differentiation from E when trying to access the bodys items. If it isn't working, neither button will work. If it is working, I've been able to use either button. This last time I died though, there was actually not a body at all so I lost everything I had. And I knew the spot it should have been in so it's not that I didn't find it.
My graphics have already been changed to give my pc the easiest time possible, and it still throws a hissy fit! I ordered a cooling pad which will hopefully keep it from burning up too much. While the game is definitely riddled with bugs and it sucks that the devs won't provide any help, I do really like the game! I love open world games where you can tame creature that don't exist in real life, and there's only a handful of good games like that. I'd love to play the Elder Scrolls but my pc doesn't have the storage space for it. So I hope things will be better now that the settings are figured out and a cooling pad is on the way. Also thank you for the advice about using the foundations to prevent falling, I tried it and it saved me from having to kill character again!

Dude just play single player or find a private server that still runs the game. Everyone knows that this is an abandoned game...We do not need to be enlightened on how do you feel around Wildcard or Snail games.
There are a lot more games out there which are/have being/been released in Early Access and had a quarter content of what DnL had at release + free new map later on.
Yeah, that definitely was one of the issues and I was able to get it figured out! Apparently on the scales that say Creature Damage and [Creature Resistance[/b].... Moving their resistance down actually gives them MORE resistance, it's backwards! As for damage, you are moving the scale for how much damage creatures receive, not how much damage they deal. Which was very unclear... After fixing the issue, I immediately encountered a new visual bug with the sky. That too was also due to the settings, so now I'm nervous to mess around with them too much haha
and it is LITERALLY gamebreasking bug... your denial is just stupid.. apologize for your lies and stop..

I've invested over 100 hours in this game at RELEASE, unlike you it seems. I've come across a lot of bugs and had unhealthy experiences enough to make me stop...
Now i come back to playing this year and started on the dlc map, which i previously did not played.
Due to my previous buggy experience i did not expected much from the new map...

There is a button on the main menu you says Host\Local which brings you to more settings to set up your world. After choosing your settings, you can click Play Singleplayer at the bottom. Be careful playing around with these settings though because it's not difficult to screw up the game. If you do though, you can always reset to the default configurations using the bottom at the bottom. Hope this helps!
