DLC question. Frost essence!

I got the quest to make a house flag at level 30, I am now nearly at level 51 and still can't find it or make it..
The best info I can find on it is that you can get it as a rare drop from the frozen foot clan/goblins and not found any yet. So why make it a challenge for someone in the earlier levels?

I still say that giving us challenges 10 levels or more before we can do them is wrong though grrr

Frost essence comes from the ice cave. Drops from the last boss and the goblin enemies inside. Also the yetis drop it

there is a icecave in the DLC, strange I have seen no other mention of that..

I've heard people say there is an ice cave over by the NE oasis. I looked everywhere and did not find it. Can't figure out if they are just confused and are talking about Archos, or if there really is an ice cave on Gaia somewhere.

There's a cave wer call the bubbling cave next to the swamp, you can get frost crystals there but noth the essence. It's full of wier pulsating and bubbling purple stuff, you can't mistake it for any other cave as far as I know lol

I am sure taxmaster was talking about Archos, my mistake I didn't make it clear that I was talking about the DLC that's why I edited the heading.

Ya, been in that cave. It has at least two entrances. One on the swamp side and one on the desert next to a waterfall. Nice little shortcut to the desert from close to the Northern and Western Outposts.

Some people say that cave is near the oasis, but there is an oasis near the desert entrance and also one near the Saurianian camp. So there is a bit of confusion around it.

Thanks for that, I will check both oasis. We have a base near one, the one near the elite scarab altar and I know I have been by the other so I will explore more next time.
