Fastest way to Farm Magic Shards?

Whats the fastest way besides using the spell?

The fields. Bottom right of the map. If you die and the respawn maps comes up you will see it called the fields. Or google it.

There aren't any nodes. Fields by hand or drain spell on dead elementals/wraiths

The whole world in this game contains magic. So just about anything can be drained of it. Trees seem to produce more than rocks, and bushes won't give any. Just start pointing you wand at stuff with the draining spell equipped. You will find out which are the best source.

Using the staff is highly inefficient considering the quantity of shards you need to make anything...

Yep we need Draining Spell 2 and 3!

I always ride 1 vrock and have 1 follow.. head to the wheat fields.. and after 30 minutes of play, I have about 2,000 shards. Only way I'll do it.

i setup an outpost in the area, filled with storage chests, troughs(for berries grass etc) and a res altar, then i teleport there, farm by hand for a while, and keep despositing it in the chests, then later fly back with my 5 Vrocks to haul it all back to base, its awesome

Yes, been there, absolute the best. I go there when I need a lot, but it is a bit of a trip, so if I need less than 500, it is just quicker to get right outside my base.

Also, if you've never been there, come prepared to fight wraiths and skeletons. There are numerous drops in that area and also lots of goblins. My girlfriend who likes easy mode will not get off her Griffin when we go there. The first time we went, she died to a Wraith
