I read some where they can drop for meteorites. Ive farmed dark event twice daily and have never seen one

It's a very rare drop, but you're on the right track.

The only time i've seen one was when I was goofing off in single player and spawning in dozens of lv 400 elite wraiths. All those wraiths and I got 1. Elite Wraiths seem to show up more often on triggered events rather than the random invasion. Good luck with your hunt. I've personally decided it is like the lottery, awesome bonus but don't expect it.
