Goblin Hammer deals more damage with higher attack levels
Is this suppose to be accurate?

I have 250 percent attack damage character and I kill more tames than keep them alive?

is it ideal to be a tame/beast master is to never level up attack damage?

Its a melee weapon, anything revolving around melee deals more dmg with more atk power, even fist punching makes you deal more dmg with higher attack wich is normal and how its supposed to be

use arrows for tames with such low health that you can kill it.. jesus. how do people build houses and club things that are so easy to just arrow? how is that better?

The amount of stat that knocks down an enemy should scale along with the damage when you have skilled melee. If skilling melee which should make you handle the melee weapon better, and this melee weapons intention is to knock down enemies, then the base damage is too high on this weapon. If an increased skill in handeling a weapon that is made to knock creatures down and not kill them does kill them, high skill creates the wrong behaviour of this item. It is therefore not working as it's supposed to on high melee skilled characters.

Aowin is wrong, this club does not work as it's supposed to.

katskratches does not even address the actual problem. A workaround is not a solution to something that is broken.

This definiately needs a fix. Lower the base damage significantly.

Constitution damage scale with melee dmg stats. Increase the stats if you want to save the club durability and time.

if you don't wanna kill it, do it the intended way and then there's 0 risk.

Unless you speak of lvl8 sheep and 300+ attack everything falls under the blunt clubs.
Hook arrows are there to help you level up taming and get delicious food, so taming albino deer (lvl40) takes less than 60sec (literally).
Also virtually all mobs recover hp faster than constituion so just be patient if they get too low.

yeah, having to dodge attacks and use arrows is for sure not how you're supposed to tame things. you're supposed to just trap it and stand still and hit it with a stick!

Ive just tested, at default attack and like 500 health, and 200 constitution(official server or vanilla private server rates) it took me about 2 goblin clubs to knock down a level 120 griffen, leaving it at about half health, the wildness went down some, but thats because i tried using cured meat, instead of carnivore feed. in conclusion, the goblin club atm only works well with low melee damage characters.

the moment you level up melee, it goes from doing 4-10 damage, to 20-90 90-150 etc.

whether they decide to address it or not, I take it with a grain of salt. atm they are releasing raiding content, and the next patch most likely will be more monsters added. judging from their schedule release acitivity pattern. They are going to release all NPC houses, quest, monsters, buildings, and spells first, and bug/hotfix old ♥♥♥♥ later, in perpesctive , a fine tactic IF the game's popularity holds fast long enough for content to be riddiculed or appreciated.

I tamed my gryphon with the club method. I have over 300 attack. I didnt do that kind of damage to it and i was using a LEGENDARY goblin hammer.

Not sure what you speak of. I also tamed an Albino deer the same way. Are you sure its a goblin club you are using?

I was only doing 29 damage per hit. And it took more than 2 hits btw.
