Regardless of what is happening behind the scenes with the game development /code rework. The community Managers/Developer have done an extremely poor job communicating this with the active community, further at this stage the game gets an active player base of 300. which means they lost most of the active players, due to lack of content, fixes, and so on. Should they Fix the game and add more content its possible many will come back, or by than moved on to other adventures.
And the person with access to the company e-mail is the one who is lying according to the CM
Don't blame Knight. He is only passing along what he was told to pass along. Higher-ups rarely let underlings know what is really happening and this has pretty much turned political now.
Time for the corporate spin.
What is NOT needed is all the negativity.
I've been around {and on a NUMBER of servers} for a little bit now and i do NOT see a "dying, or dead game". I look at the numbers of players in the servers lists and i see a game that IS surviving.. maybe not 'thriving' atm, but Surviving... even despite all those who keep encouraging others to not bother checking DnL out and who keep telling folks who DO play that "the end is near" or the "game is dead".
Numbers do not lie.. the game is NOT dead!!!
You're right, numbers don't lie. You just can't accept the trend. They keep falling and falling, even more so now with both the announcement and the removal of 2x. February 2020 was the 2nd worst for average player level since release. March is shaping up to be the worst.
And they keep falling and falling...
Really? Another Snail subsidiary release, Outlaws of the Old West, barely gets above 100 players since release yet they got a major rework update a month ago.
We have just a statement by a forum volunteer who happens to be in charge of the discord channel. And he tries to keep this discord channel alive all of this time to advertise his upcoming games. I doubt if its the official discord channel of Dark and Light anymore.
Not a single one official announcement. Come on !
I came late to the party, but how do you go from getting posts monthly or weekly to 0 on the official site? Not even a Happy Christmas or New years or anything.
All they needed was a offiical post stating,
"Sorry, but thanks for your patience. things are going much slower than we anticipated and with the corona outbreak, doesn't help. While we have no solid ETA with the coding, here's what we would like to get done once we get it sorted. (lists plans)
Again thank you for sticking around. To make up for it we will XP boost 3 days a week instead of 2 (any gesture doesn't matter)"
That's all, just so we know there's official people still around and there's actually something happening and they have some sort of a plan going forward
