Greetings Adventurers,

By now I'm sure many of you have come across certain information pertaining to the assumed end to Dark and Light.

I have spoken with the Community Team that have received information from the Producer behind the Dark and Light project.

Many know that the reason behind the belief that Dark and Light was at and end came from a GM for the game. However with that being said I can tell you; what has been quoted is not correct.

Due to misinformation and miscalculation of said information. Information passed to players through replies of support tickets were not strictly true.

Here is what you need to know going foward:
Dark and Light has been and continues to be going through its code rework. However due to the mammoth undertaking there isn't a exact time frame in mind... This comes from the scale of the task as well as the size of the team that can be working on such a task. (Toes don't need to be trod on while reworking code, aha). However this does also mean that during this time, content, as well as bug patches are less likely because of the work being undertaken.

With all this being said, it is still important to catalogue bugs and issues within the game, that can be later addressed in a variety of ways. Firstly, to check that those bugs may have been fixed due to the change in core-code. And also, for once the code rework has happened - They know what to tackle.

I personally do understand how frustrating this can be from a players perspective, especially given the rocky road that we've all walked at times.

If anyone has any questions or concerns, please do voice them, and when the team can, they will hopefully be able to shed some light on said questions and concerns.

I thank you for your patience, understanding, and passion for the game during this time.

Happy adventuring,
Knight.

SO an employee just makes stuff up? Yeah not believing this, just like I am not believing they are rewriting code for a dead game with almost no players and no market value.

Of course you believe someone with third hand info...lol. It isn't even funny anymore, it is just a frikken train wreck. Now we are supposed to believe someone who is a volunteer forum person over someone who actually has access to company e-mail accounts..... So which one is making crap up? Which one is covering up and which is telling the truth?

hello all,

Regardless of what is happening behind the scenes with the game development /code rework. The community Managers/Developer have done an extremely poor job communicating this with the active community, further at this stage the game gets an active player base of 300. which means they lost most of the active players, due to lack of content, fixes, and so on. Should they Fix the game and add more content its possible many will come back, or by than moved on to other adventures.

And the CM dropped this "new" info and then all CM's logged out of discord or put up Do NOT Disturb......maybe they don't want any questions? Go and read the discord threads ....what a crap shoot...the latest info doesn't even come from a dev. It comes from a CM that had to talk to a GM who talked to the producer who talked to someone in China...........
And the person with access to the company e-mail is the one who is lying according to the CM

Don't blame Knight. He is only passing along what he was told to pass along. Higher-ups rarely let underlings know what is really happening and this has pretty much turned political now.

Time for the corporate spin.

Okay, once AGAIN, i have to say to all those naysayers... you know what? IF you don't like the game, the direction, and the community kindly remove yourself and move on.
What is NOT needed is all the negativity.
I've been around {and on a NUMBER of servers} for a little bit now and i do NOT see a "dying, or dead game". I look at the numbers of players in the servers lists and i see a game that IS surviving.. maybe not 'thriving' atm, but Surviving... even despite all those who keep encouraging others to not bother checking DnL out and who keep telling folks who DO play that "the end is near" or the "game is dead".
Numbers do not lie.. the game is NOT dead!!!

There are more people playing candy crush in my city than the total of DNL players, the game is dead. No one is gonna spend money on a game with less than 300 players.

You're right, numbers don't lie. You just can't accept the trend. They keep falling and falling, even more so now with both the announcement and the removal of 2x. February 2020 was the 2nd worst for average player level since release. March is shaping up to be the worst.

And they keep falling and falling...

Really? Another Snail subsidiary release, Outlaws of the Old West, barely gets above 100 players since release yet they got a major rework update a month ago.

Yep which is why i Linked the Screenshot to the post in the Official Discord.
We don’t have a single one official announcement.

We have just a statement by a forum volunteer who happens to be in charge of the discord channel. And he tries to keep this discord channel alive all of this time to advertise his upcoming games. I doubt if its the official discord channel of Dark and Light anymore.

Not a single one official announcement. Come on !

No disrespect to Knigtly, feel they're the only thing keeping things semi-alive, but as some have said, this doesn't really cut it.

I came late to the party, but how do you go from getting posts monthly or weekly to 0 on the official site? Not even a Happy Christmas or New years or anything.

All they needed was a offiical post stating,

"Sorry, but thanks for your patience. things are going much slower than we anticipated and with the corona outbreak, doesn't help. While we have no solid ETA with the coding, here's what we would like to get done once we get it sorted. (lists plans)
Again thank you for sticking around. To make up for it we will XP boost 3 days a week instead of 2 (any gesture doesn't matter)"

That's all, just so we know there's official people still around and there's actually something happening and they have some sort of a plan going forward

I can't believe anyone would buy that excuse. They have had years to fix this game.
