Game resolution 1920 X 1080, but aspect ratio is all squashed?
I've had this game for a while, but just decided to try playing it. I prefer to play Fullscreen, at my monitor's native resolution of 1920 X 1080. However, this causes the game to look stretched from side to side, almost like it's displaying a 4:3 resolution and then stretching it to fit. Is there a way to correct this? Because it looks pretty awful.

I don't really want to switch to a lower resolution if I can avoid it (by modern standards I'm practically playing on a laptop monitor already. Or at least, that's what the sales guy at Best Buy seemed to be implying when I told him what size monitor I use.) I think this is the first time I've seen a modern game have this issue - I've seen the stretched aspect ratio before, but only in really old games that run at something like 800 X 600 max resolution.

Hey EmberStar,

Would you mind posting a screenshot of the graphics settings you are using so that I can look into this for you?

Trying to figure out how to post a screenshot. I don't use the Steam Overlay, and trying to use PrintScreen to copy to the clipboard seems to have... unpredictable results. (The firtst three times it just produced a copy of the loading screen with the dragon, then a shot of the HUD in the world with nothing behind it, even though I was looking at the Graphics Options menu at the time.)

However, I've found a set of reproduction steps, at least on my computer:

Switch to 1600 x 900, Fullscreen, apply, save settings.
Switch back to 1920 x 1080, Fullscreen, apply, save settings. On my system, the aspect ratio will be weird. *however,* it appears that using Alt-Tab to minimize the game and then re-expanding it to fullscreen can correct the problem, at least temporarily.

I may have to enable the Steam Overlay to get a usable screenshot of my graphics settings. :( I'll try again when I have more time to test things.

Graphics card: NVidia GeForce GTX 1070, 8GB onboard ram, driver version 388.13

And an interesting new wrinkle: Either using Alt-Tab or changing the graphics settings deleted all of the items I had equipped to the toolbar. (New character, so just stone items and the light spell. Nothing that can't be replaced in about 30 seconds.)

Edit: Nevermind, this was my mistake. I didn't realize that there were two tool bars, nor that Alt was the default key for switching between them. So... found my stuff.
