Building control help

My wife and I just got the game last night, so far we're enjoying it. The only thing that's bothering me atm is I can't seem to figure out building controls......well, assuming there are any. To give you an idea, the most recent survival game I've played is Conan Exiles.

One of the things I love about these games is the building mechanics, but, I also have some OCD's that make things fun/anoying. Last night I was trying to lay down some straw foundations, and I noticed that the mouse-wheel wouldn't rotate the tiles. Is there a way to do that?? The floorboards are facing all sorts of weird directions, there's no flow to it, so I'm hoping I can fix that.

Also, is there a way to elevate the foundation?? In CE, I hold ♥♥♥♥ then mouse-wheel up and down to elevate the foundation. It helps a lot if I'm building in an area with inconsistent ground levels.

I hope these questions make sense, and I hope even more they have an answer. I just woke up, so brain not working properly yet. Merry Xmas!!!

Currently there aren't any building controls like that, they are planning on redoing the building system though.

A good way to build a raise floor is to place down a pillar and then build a ceiling ontop of that and treat that as your floor. (You will need to get to woodworking first to do that though)

Hmmm, that sucks, but as long as they're planning improvements in the future I'll keep my hopes up. :) I guess CE spoiled me. lol

We're just started, not even level 10 yet, but thanks for the tip, I'll keep that in mind for when we're higher level and build a nicer place than our "shack". lol Thank you! :D

Hey, if I may utilize this thread for another question, is there a way to auto-combine stacks without putting them all in your inventory and dragging them over each other?? I have a lot of straw currently, but if I try to combine them in a chest, they just keep replacing each other, rather than combine.

The "E" key will sometimes flip the orientation. Often things place opposite of how the preview works, so if that is happening, select the opposite preview of what you want to get the desired result.

I think the building is fine. Straw is really just that, a makeshift shelter. The rest of the building sets look great for the most part. Iron needs a bit of texture work is all and manor needs quite a bit of work.
