Get your facts straight.
But they did confirm its not an MMORPG by standards of games like WOW, Everquest or FFXIV, etc. Its more like a game such as ARK or those survival games but with much more traditional RPG style combat and spell/skill character advancement.
Also, I said private servers because they show single player and local multiplayer here on steam store, look at the front page of this game. So if they are saying that, it means you can play on your own server apart from online with the rest of the world.
In addition, the server size will be under 1,000 from what they said right? So that means at one given time maybe only 100 are online or 20.... its not the same as a full sized MMORPG that has many hundreds and/or thousands of people online all at once. So you see my point?
I am just writing all this so people do not get all hyped thinking this is a full MMORPG, and they can see that it is a little different style of game.
Its a RPG, server based, runs 24/7 and has hundreds of people per server. MMO imo. I don't think you want more then 1k per server. Its around 23 x bigger then the Ark "The Island" map and that is beyond cluttered with 100 people.
From my understanding the tags have just been randomly slapped on by someone who didn't read the memo.
Yea, lets see about the single player and local multi.. maybe its not right.
BUt they did say many times dont expect a full blown MMORPG in the classic sense.
Well Ark and Rust and those have lasted OK so far. The good ones can last
Obviously, a game that has 100 players per server is not an MMO, even if it features some of the characteristics mentioned above. But if it has at least 1k peeps playing together and the mechanics of an MMO, then to me it is an MMO.
Yea we will have to wait and see.
