Taming Feeds
Was wondering if it is worth the huge amounts of resources to make delicate feeds instead of sticking with normal feeds?

Like, what would the taming effectiveness (wildness) drop to on the same monster hypothetically for each one? Also how fewer pieces of delicate feed would the tame need relative to using normal feed?

Yes, I am aware of that arthur, I do the same thing now. Fertilize consumption is too strong currently. However, I was talking about statistical comparisons between feed and delicate feed.

Use this chart, it has some values for both, but if it doesn't and only has the taming for delicate feed, that is usually because that is the best way to go by far:

If it will tame on herb or carni feed I don’t bother with delicate. It’s simply not worth the time. I tamed a panther with 8 left over delicate feed and those 8 didn’t move the bar any discernible amount over regular carni feed. This is all anecdotal and my perception. Could probably test on my server to be sure

ABSOLUTELY.. it makes the tame numbers very high ...and tames them very quickly ..provided that you starve them at least 500 to a thousand points depending on what you are taming ..

Don't some things only take delicate feed and not normal feed? I heard vicious bargashes won't eat normal carnivore feed but will eat the delicate variant.

Hmm, this answer is only true occasionally. Some tame will not even eat the delicate feed. Some that do, only tame out like one level higher than if you used regular feed. Others will tame 30 times faster (the albino deer does) if you use the delicate feed instead of regular. So you need a chart like I listed in an earlier response. There is no one right answer here.

And starve taming is a good idea when using expensive and difficult (time consuming usually) to make feed and you are taming in a dangerous area. But if you are taming in a safe location, like inside your base walls (this is where I do most of my taming), it doesn't make any difference from taming by placing the trough and feed right away. If your tame gets killed by a panther or Earth Elemental before it finishes, you will be glad if you were starving it and didn't use any feed yet. Otherwise, doesn't matter.

I don't know of any that only take the delicate:

Some only take the mystical feed, those are the elites. They look like regular creatures, but they have a glow (except not the elite goblins, which are not tamable).

You don't know of any bill? Look at that link you posted just now. It shows every kind of meat as a peferred, but no normal carnivore feed..

Ya, that chart is very incomplete. I've talked to the author. For many tames, he only lists the preferred feed. Look in the wiki for the complete list of foods each tame will eat. For example:

The deer is going to tame much faster on delicate, but regular feed is an option:

I'm doing my best to answer your questions accurately, but you can always look this stuff up on the wiki. That is what I've done. If you can't find it there, then youtube will usually have a video on how to do a specific tame.

That's the reference I'm trying to explain though, I am using that exact wiki page for vicious bargashes, it doesn't show delicate and normal feeds like that albino deer does. But if you say it's incomplete and inaccurate and the vicious' will actually eat the carnivore feed then I should be set. So dragons will also take normal feed?

This page:
https://darkandlight.gamepedia.com/Vicious_Hyena

On the left it shows what it will eat under the heading: Taming.

The speadsheet is the incomplete, but ya, the wiki is too. This is EA (like that explains everything)

I don't see anything in the wiki about the dragons. I think they will take normal feed, and I tamed them that way awhile back. You would need to watch a video less than a month old or just try it for yourself to know for sure. As far as I know, they will take regular feed and don't require the delicate, but will eat the delicate.

I see it clear as day, but it does not show Carnivore Feed. xD

Oh, oops. Didn't read it closely. Looks like Fine Cooked meat works about as well as carnivore feed normally would. If you can tame a turkey and roast it, you would get enough fine cooked meat to tame one.

I've only ever made a few delicate carnivore feed. I don't think you can buy the uncommon field mushroom, so it is a lot of work to make that feed. I could be wrong about that though. I've only been using the vendors about a month. I wasted a lot of time playing DnL and thinking the vendors were too complicated to figure out, and they may be complicated, but they are necessary.
