Cyclops
How rare is the Cyclops? I finally got to see one yesterday after playing for a couple months. I seen dragons and mythicals on my server multiple times before but this is the first time for the cyclops. Are they that uncommon?

They are only in one location, in kind of a cave, next to the Cyclops workbench, just NW of the huge trees.

They are not uncommon in that one location. You will almost always find around 2 to 4 of them. 1 or 2 of which are probably the savage cyclops variety.

Once you know where to look, you can find one just about anytime you want. Keep in mind that the savage variety have more HP and can be hard to kill. You might want a dragon to kill them if you don't want to chance getting killed.

You can tame them, but I couldn't get the saddle to work on them when I last tried almost a month ago.

I have been by there a bunch of times and this is the first time i seen one. Not a savage one but a regular level 72. I ended up taming it just because I hadn't tamed one before lol. Now I am interested in the savage one. Can they be picked up?

Oh, maybe someone on your server is killing them. They probably take at least 1/2 hour to respawn. They do drop fine meat, so if someone is taming a carnivore, they are a good source of taming meat.

I've never tried to pick one up, seems unlikely you can. What I did was build a 4 x 4 pillar building (two rows of pillars in a 4 x4 square shape with ceilings for a lid). I can give you more details if you want to try this. I stand inside the building and shoot out between the pillars at the Cyclops with the stone rope arrows. Once it is down, you can put a protective structure around it. You will need to kill the other Cyclops that you are not taming, as they won't just stand by while you try to tame one of their friends. There is a good spot for this just down hill from the cyclops den.

I put it on follow after I tamed it and brought it back to my base. I tried, but it either wouldn't accept the saddle or I couldn't ride it, don't recall which it was.

That sounds like a fantastic tactic. Like shooting sharks from a shark cage lol

Yes, like a shark cage. Only small stuff that can fit through a door can get in, unfortunately, that includes hyenas, so you need to watch out for them. It can be built on unlevel ground. If you put the ceilings on to keep out things like Griffins, then build down from the ceilings with the columns to get a level ceiling.

They can be transported with a windrider.
