Private server, faction change/ switch camp command
To cut a long story short on our private server we have two houses one human and one elf (we all started off humans and all changed apart from one person who didn't want to re level a new character). I made an elf character and whilst browsing showmyadminmanager I found a command that mentioned switching camp. Out of curiosity I typed cheat switchcamp talos to see if i could change to human and hey ho I can stay in my current house and access human vendors, but it seems the same command doesn't work the other way eg. switchcamp estel so I'm stuck in limbo. I wondered if anyone has any ideas or has used this command please.

If this does work would your character still be flagged as the old faction and be attacked onsight by the guards of the new faction. I ask this as i changed faction by changeing character and i unclaimed and reclaimed my dinos. The guards of my new faction will attack my dinos onsight, they seem to be still flagged as ELF(Old Faction).

Is there an admin command where I can switch another player from Elf to Human? On our private server we are all human, but one person rolled Elven. Is there any command I can run to switch that person from Elven to Human by chance?

Or, as mentioned, some way to make an alliance between our Human House and their Elven House so we can interact with each other and we can interact with the city NPCs of the opposite faction?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

@evilpeppard we had the same issue, by playing with commands I was able to change the player between human and dwarven but it doesn't persist through death. As soon as you respawn you go back to your original faction. In the end we just got the person to make another character and gave them experience through admincheats.

@QC when it temporarily worked for us I could go in any city and not be attacked, however as stated above its only until you die. Also our private server is forced to pve so no friendly fire on players animals or structures so that may be why

@Nyrana,

Thanks. So, we could have the player roll a new toon then boost them through admin cheats? So I could put them to say, level 50, and boost all their crafting back up? Where would I find the proper commands to do that, please?

Hi, we did it through the admin manager (just type showmyadminmanager in the console) but I think the command cheat GiveExpToPlayer PlayerID 1000 0 1 would give the player 1000 experience you can get the player ID from the adminmanager. This however doesnt affect the crafting that would have to be re-levelled or you can unlock all the schemas available with a seperate admin command

Has anyone managed to make this work successfully? Also, is it possible to switch camp, form an alliance, and then switch camp back?

I can test, but would prefer not to have to roll back if it doesn't work.

Here's a bit more info for anyone interested.

As stated above, this is a TEMPORARY assignment of faction. It only persists through death.

If you check in the Admin Manager, SwitchCamp is looking for an integer argument. With a little testing last night, I confirmed that 1 = human, 2= elf, 3= dwarf.

While I did not test adding cross faction players to a House, I did test adding a Human and Elf House to my Dwarf Alliance and that did work even after changing my faction back to Dwarf. Players show up in a blue tag, tames still show in red. Tames are not able to damage allied tames or players.

It does appear to be a work around of sorts for not having cross faction play.
