Its classed as an elite.
All tamable elites you need to damage until their aura changes to netural then tame like normal

Some elite are bugged, not sure if they are or not. I will retest myself in a few mins. There are always 2-4 of theses sheep near the elf city (yes the elf city gets all the cool toys, no love for Dwarfs or Humans)

You used to just be able to tame these, no need to get the aura to go away. Now you just don't seem able to.

I couldn't tell you an absolute answer to that, at best I could say that the vibe on the forums is either that they are bugged or that there is an approach we aren't taking yet.

I can confirm that I have previously tamed a golden sheep with about, rough guess, 12-20 stone hooks. Two recent attempts failed with 100 and 200 stone hooks. In none of the mentioned experiences did the sheep ever lose its aura or have it change colour. Killing the sheep also maintained the same aura (Like with killing an elite goblin.)

I can also confirm that some of the larger elites auras will change colour and disappear. Best info I have heard so far is to damage them until the aura goes, then move in for the tame. Not something that works on a Golden Sheep though.

You dont have to Hit a Golden Sheep to Death, dont believe da Troll comment. Here is the thing to do. Golden (=Elite) Sheep[edit | edit source]
Golden sheep will rarely spawn and are hard to tame. They will emit a golden glow which can be seen from afar, tamed just like the regular sheep.

Known spawn points are being the town of your Species.

Well known Bugs:

Crafting during server-restart: Crafting-queue will stop at 99% --> Start crafting an other item and the original queue will start again.

Golden Sheep are not elites... Elites are creatures in the world that have a chance to transform into their Legendary/Unique counterparts. As in, Elite Griffin becomes the Peregriffin, Elite Kebo/Kodo becomes the Colossus, Elite Unicorn becomes Pegasus, Elite Nidhog becomes the Windrider. Golden Sheep are not elites and do not transform. The only Elite that I haven't heard, seen, or read that transform is the Elite Goblin.

Doing damage to the elites will change their Aura's. Green to blue to red and some have reported no Aura which on official servers I haven't seen, could be graphical deal as some looking at the same creature say they see no aura when others see one. Not sure. It's thought that the Green Aura has a better chance to transform or metamorph or whatever than Blue which is better than Red. Folks have waited around a trapped elite from 4 to 24 hours before it's transformed, likely based on level as well as the Aura. Someone has to be near the Elite to keep it active in the game for it to transform. It's just the way the game works. If no one is around an area, it's basically "turned off."

Once transformed it becomes capable of being KO'd and then tame. I'm honestly not sure if you're able to really tame the Elites, just rumor. Therefore also not sure if Tamed Elites transform at all. I wouldn't think so.
