Where do wraiths spawn?

So, after a lot of hard work I am finally at a point where I can hunt the low level dark wraiths, and before when I was not looking for them they were seemingly around every corner to jump out at me and chase me down until I either got back to town and the guards killed it, or it took my soul and went on its merry way.

Where do these things spawn? I have only found one so far in the woods while actively looking for them.

From meteors a lot.

when a meteor lands there is a chance for a wraith and / or a dark skeleton to spawn

If you go to center of the map near the Church with the cementery, you will find a lot of Wraiths. They do Spawn there.

There's also "undead island" (or shipwreck island) where these and some fallen skeletons spawn. This island is on the south-west side of the map - to the west of the floating islands. So, if you're facing the floating islands on land, "undead island" is to the right of the floating islands in the water.

Update: note these Dark Wariths/Skeletons are tameable (in multiplayer; elemental/undead taming seems to be broken still in single player)
