Nidhog Taming
Just curious if people would be willing to share information about the level they tamed and how long it took them. Looking to down one and know it is a long tame just want to know how long. Also anyone have a preferred spot to find them?

Depends where ur game is knocked out really but if ur near volcano first mountain 2 human statues all have elephants / bahamut / yetis spawn location me best way to kill them is lightning or if ur a high level spear kill them and harvest with sword I get 12 per fine creature with my iron sword and 210 melee
Is that using mostly fine meat or just filling it fine meat when you can ?

Myself being level 50 tamed a level 16 Nidhog 3 days ago. Allthough i have not unlocked the saddle as of yet, you can ride it without a saddle. Either that is a bug or intended. It just looks a bit weird seeing you will be gliding 2 meters above the nidhog (where the saddle should be).

I have a second base between the waterfalls and the Spring with all the Light Crystals in and around it (Fairly center of the map). The region is very hostile. Panthers are patrolling in packs and fighting Nidhogs nonstop. Unfortunatly that was the only spot i found loads of Nidhogs.

On the same plains you have a small POI with some houses etc. One of the houses has its doors facing the Nidhog/Panther battlegrounds. I flew around on my vrock till i spotted one that was a bit astray. Then went and parked the Vrock and rid a disposable Hyena. I ended up being being able to kite the Nidhog to that small village and while i was able to enter the house, the Nidhog was stuck in the doorway. Seeing the POI's are undestructable i was able to shoot it without any hassles. It flew away once with about 20 arrows stuck inside it. Came back 30 seconds later, shot another 20 arrows into it and this time the Nidhog dropped just outside the house while trying to flee again. Taming time depends on your server stats. Took em about 1 hour seeing our stats are raised slightly.

The big issue is that in the entire area you have Panthers patrolling, Wind elementals, Gryphons etc. The first time i tried this method a Longhorn came running along chased by a panther and a Gryphon. Take time it's worth every penny...

That's with raw meat if any tame gets mostly fine meat it cuts the tame hours by 2-3 if your just getting like casual fine meat like 1 hour off your tame. Taming trick if you wanna starve it than collect a ♥♥♥♥ ton of fine meat at once you can really make your tame go by fast. Dragons are so easy to tame its stupid you can tame a dragon faster than a krepo or a bear or any 10-12 hour tame 120 infernus dragon prob takes 7 hours mostly fine meat

Just cobweb it slows it a lot and you gotta scout out a nidhog by it self so you don't gotta worry about panthers and ♥♥♥♥ . Build a wood cage around your tame always

116 nidhogg. 4 hrs 40 min. All bites raw fine meat. Wildness drop to zero on first bite. ( Same with regular raw on another tame. Wildness will drop to zero on first bite) will not eat carnivor feed.

I have heard they like to eat fine cured meat over everything else. I know it's a long shot but any idea how many bits of fine meat you actually used, ballpark cause I know spoils happen. used

I think i tried fine cured but not 100% sure. i heard they take mythical feed actually. But for wildness to drop to zero on first bite other than its favorite.....something not right. And i have no idea how many bites of raw....
Fair enough. Thank you all for the info.
