Taming Water Elemental

Having trouble taming a water elemental with the soul supress stone, both small and the larger. I get yellow text saying 'Target is not a creature.' No trouble with any other elements, only water.

I've cast the stone on both dead elementals and very damaged elementals.

My personal experience was that "Target is not a pet/creature", meant that you had 'missed.' Not saying you missed, just that the game has huge hit detection issues atm.

You'll notice sometimes that it says something like "The targets blood is not low enough." As best I can tell, this means "You hit but the target isn't low enough HP."

Some things that may help;

1) You only have to tap LMB, no need to hold it.
2) If you get "Target is not a pet" use the stone again until you get "The targets blood is not low enough." Then shoot it again and repeat until you get "Creature is saved" message.
3) Always walk backwards in a straight line letting it come at you, aim center mass, helps a lot with the hit detection.

It took me about 3 days of trial an error to tame a fire imp, ten mins later I had tamed 2 more. So once you get a feel for what is happening, it gets way easier : )

Last but not least, all elementals are currently broken and will be deleted, inventory included on a server restart. You can save your tame and probably pay to revive it each time, though the revive system is broken and the level will likely be something random and low, not what you tamed. So don't waste time on high levels (though they may be easier to initially tame as I believe it to be percentage based on how low you have to get the HP,) save the pet and be prepared to pay a revival cost each server restart.

i tamed a tree ent by killing it then using the stone the imps the same way?

Hi thanks for your reply. I've captured many elementals but after this patch i'm having troubles with this water elemental only. 'target is not a ceature', I noticed they have changed the icon.. perhaps that's not the only thing they changed? I've captured other elementals since but water ele, no good.

I had trouble with a water elemental yesterday too. It does seem to be a hit box issue. It took quite a few tries but I finally got it standing on top of it's corpse aiming down with a small stone.
