black screen

i was trying to play dnl for about 20+ mis and it wouldnt let me off of the black screen.i could hear the music playing and thats it

what exactly happens? (not that i can actually help you, but i got a similar problem for quite a long time)

sometimes i get a black screen when i start a game (somewhat in the middle of the loading screen) and i have to shut down the pc (i just press the power button and let the pc shut down in an orderly fashion [with the screen still beeing black]) - but i do get that in other unreal engine 4 games aswell.

Unfortunately i haven´t been able to point my finger at what´s causing it - maybe it´s something with the video driver, maybe it´s something with the hardware?

Occasionaly (quite rare actually) it showed that the video driver crashed (windows event display) - but lately it doesn´t even show me that anymore). I tried different driver versions (clean uninstall and so on...) without any noticable change (except the event display thing not showing any errors anymore as mentioned above)

for any contribution / help - thanks in advance

Same issue here. I was getting in just fine and then after this last update a lot of people are getting black screened. My computer has less memory and CPU with a HHD so not as good as yours but I have a Geforce 1060 graphics card

If you alt tab at all or do anything else during loading it will never let you in. If that's not it idk anymore :\

Try deleteing the config file . That seems to work in a number of games.

i have a Lan server on my pc. i was able to load just fine before the last big patch, but after that came out i'm having the black screen problem too. I tried restarting teh pc 3 times. shut down 1x. verify files. changed game viewer to windowed mode. If i delete teh config file it would delete the server (not good).

I also had a black screen several times and couldn't join.

Best solution for me: Somebody had to kill my character while I was logged out. I had to respawn, but now it works.

best solution for me is to start the game with medium graphics and set it ingame to ultra

Do a search on forums for black screen at login.
Send your directx diag to the official snail tech support.
Get yourself killed and never log out at base again.
Old problem no fix thus far.

*** TO temp fix this you need to be killed in game so you log in to the Respawn screen its happened to me 2 times now both times fixed by my house mate killing me ***

I normally play on Epic settings. I reduced detail to low for everything and joined another server Private/Official worked.Then relogged into back to my main server on low detail and was able to login.
Sometimes this worked, most times it did not. Good luck guys.

we went through this. Try logging on with a differant computer. possibly a friends. With my sons he was having a issue because of buildings and tames near by. I had to log him on and run him to a city and camp there. No buildings or tames aloud in cities so no obstructions with him loading in. It does work but he has to camp in cities each time

Same proplem here for me and my friend we get this bug in the same second and cant reconnect for now .... when it holds 4 days and we lose all our castle buildings we play this game not more and gone back to ark (in ark this black screen bug never happen in 1 year of playing) !

Maybe post in one thread with more comments rather than copy/pasting your exact comment into roughly 10 threads of the same thing at once.
