Farming questions
I finally worked out how to set-up the irrigation. I have questions about the procedure:

1) If I seeded x100 Snow Lotus in a Large Farm plot; would it require double the amount of fertilizer compared to if I only seeded x50?

2) Is it possible to seed a single seed? If so, how much crop yield would it produce?

3) If you are unable to keep the fertilizer amount high, will the plants all die and not produce? (I planted x80 Thunderseeds in a Large Farm plot with x5 Medium Fertilizers, when I woke up in the morning, there was nothing in the plot)

4) Are there any pointers seasoned farmers could give me? I'm looking to produce Herbivore Feed, but I simply cannot get the resources, as farming has no in-game tool-tips or guides.

Farming is currently broken, it requires an obscene quantity of fertilizer because the plot consumes it very quickly, which the devs have stated they aim to fix. I don't know the answer to your other questions, but farming may not be worth the effort.

You can only plant one seed in a plot, it will constantly produce whatever you have planted, providing you can keep it watered and fertilised. It is a little bugged, the plots eat fertiliser quite quickly, but it is possible to do.
If you dont keep them fertilised, the plant will die off and you will have to replant.

It is worth planting 2 or more crops of the required flowers for the feed. One is just not enough, as i have just discoverd. Leave the flowers in the plot until you have enough, they spoil far too quick once removed and can not be put back in.
Try to have a stock pile of fertiliser before you plant to try and keep ahead for now, hopefully the timers will be reduced at some point so you are not constantly watching the plots.

I have 4 compost bins on the go. One making small fertiliser, one making medium and 2 making large.
I also have fires burning making charcoal and a couple of chests with meat in to spoil.
Find what works for you though as i am on a private server and dont have to worry about anything happening when i am not there.
Good luck and happy farming.

I read through it and I'm pretty sure that wasn't one of the things getting fixed. I did read elsewhere that they planned on fixing fertilizer cunsumption rates, along with the loading screen times.

This is brilliant. Thanks. And thanks to everyone else

You can actually craft small and medium fert in the same bin at the same time. I havent tried large fert yet.

you can but your limited on space and its a long craft time so if want to mass produce fertiliser your better off having multiple bins and lets face it the bins arent exactly expensive to make so its worth doing

Meat spoils quicker if you break it up into smaller stacks in your inventory, as the spoil timer is per stack.

yeah i use this when starting out gather over 100 meat and use CTRL + drag to split into stacks of 1s

I run mutiple bins too but no matter how many you have crafting 2 items per bin is faster. It might even be possible to craft all 3 sizes at the same time

How many seeds do you need per plot? I put in fifteen wheat seeds and it consumed all of the seeds and hasn't grown anything yet.

only need 1 seed, plenty of fertiliser and also need it irrigated so its got constant water supply takes a very long time for them to grow

The plot currently do in fact eat too much fert, i can have any size full of nothing but large fert and after 5 hrs (sleep) of away time they are all empty, fert consumption does need some massive revisions to make farming viable and realistic to keep.

That being said i do like that fert is made the way it is but perhaps the bins slot size should be revised as well considering the resources required to make just 1 large fert muchless anything else, though praying there is a workshop added at some point because a stacking mod would be a god send for the small slot sizes in game currently.
