The second loading screen has an actual loading bar with a percentage so you'll know when you're almost done.
Agree strongly.
Just load the game, go get your breakfast (I literally did this in the morning) and by the time you finish you'll come back to a loading bar. Once it shows up, you're close.
Fortunately the bars DO have a filling animation. If they don't, just wait until they do.
Personally, this happens with every recently launched EA game. We'll be having an optimization update sometime in the future so don't fret.
Early Access
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“Dark and Light is a true Early Access game. That means that core gameplay and content is in a playable state, and we're expecting players to really enjoy themselves with the content we have available currently.
That being said, we're also expecting to see a lot of serious bugs, server stability issues, and gameplay balance issues, especially during the beginning stages of Early Access.
Early Access is not a shield you can use to excuse a game of critical faults like this. A 15+ minute loading time is unacceptable for ANY game if they are charging money for it (and they are). People expect some bugs, issues, and balance problems but this is obviously a rather game breaking issue and you should not be defending the devs for it.
And ignorance is not a shield one can use to not accept the risks of buying into an Early Access game.
The game breaking bug you refer to is not being experienced by everyone, so to place complete blame at the foot of the game is suspect.
There clearly are a multitude of possible reasons. Reasons and possible solutions that the OP seems to have not attempted to investigate as his posts lack any useful information.
If they are charging money for a game, then it had better be fully functional and playble. With loading times like that, it simply isn't. And from what I've read, it's obviously affecting a whole heck of a lot of people so it's perfectly fair to demand a refund over such an issue. Like I said, Early Access is not a magic wand you can use to excuse gamebreaking faults and the fact that many games (including DnL apparently) are released into EA long before they're ready. If it were a free demo that would be one thing but it isn't.
You mean like how Ark, which is about to officially launch in a couple of weeks and DnL is a clone of, will be bug free? In fact, many of the issues in Ark have existed since it first launched into Early Access and will almost certainly never be fixed (i.e. like how the entire building system is a broken frustrating mess). And while 15+min loading times might be fixed, it's absurd to say that people don't have the right to complain about gamebreaking issues simply because a game is in Early Access.
