how to stop the character fidgeting so much?

I don't think you can atm. Hopefully the devs will address this in the future. I know it's annoyed a lot of people, including me.

you get these options for face customization but it makes no difference because you cant tell whats changing when they just wont stay still

+1 I was just going to post the same thing. Character creation looks like fun. It's just too bad there's no toggle to stop the idle animation.

Many games have a stop animation button, Its more then annoying, trying to change feature but only get a glimps of the character from that direction 5 seconds or so, move the slider a bit more, wait 5 seconds... I do love the amount of personalization that you can put into each character, but taking the time to while your friends who just default create are telling to get in here. Great feature that wont get as much use because of the animation.
