With a group of friends we follow the game but we hesitate to buy the game for fear that it will be abandoned.

I am hoping the same for development of this game. There is mention on the developer's website of a map making tool he wanted to release to let the users create more playable areas, but that was a year ago. I sent him an email today to find out what is going on. I've made a couple of routes, and have been playing as many as I can of what has been made by the community. If nothing else, it would be cool to see more people making routes.

I've been thinking the same, I'm not sure why development seems to have stopped, they seemed to be 98% there, just needed some more maps.. Come on devs, you can do it! You could always create an open map system that allows others to share their own map imports then it will give this it's own life :)

Has anyone heard from the devs? If a community map making tool existed I think there would be oodles of new maps being generated! Orienteers love making maps :-)

Can they not just give the game to the community. I'm sure the community would make something amazing with it. But no. They split up an behaving like little children.

I played the game within the first days of release. It wasn't a team of developers, but instead, just one guy. I spoke to him a few times in the early days. It's a real pity he never developed more maps. He didn't have the resources to take it further (ie cash or sales).
