We all are frustrated, when we see the loot which can not get picked up.
But it's part of the game and properly balanced around it...
But that's only my personal oppinion...
The game already has a respawn mechanic for each normal room. If you weren't able to respawn in a normal room, Then I would accept this. But the fact that Boss rooms death is permanent, that's just inconsistent and rather annoying. Maybe the player that died should receive less rewards like XP and Credits if they died in a boss room?
If you would be able to respawn without problems in boss fights, they would loose a lot of their (positive) tension. Players could be suicidal and simply not care if their attack would kill themselves, as well, as long as they do a lot of damage to the boss. This problem would get further amplified because their curses would get deleted, as soon as the boss would be dead, so it would matter even less, if they died a few times, or not.
One could propably change that mechanic, but to balance this enormous impact on boss fights, the developer would need to make the boss fights way more hard, than they are now.
Which would lead to a lot of people complaining and calls for... etc. etc.
But the balance issues and complains, I guess you are right about that
So dying would still be punishing. Although to a lesser degree.
I think it would be a good toogleable option for a run. I like options. Everyone can turn them to his liking. Possibly it could get integrated into the difficulty modifiers that are already in the game.
