What is Cursed Flesh and why do I keep getting it super early?

Every time I get it the game basically goes "rocks fall you die"
Is there no avoiding this crap? Why is this in the game? Just to make random runs into duds?

You get "Cursed Flesh" (not to be confused with "Curse of the Flesh") when you die in co-op or open cursed chests. You can remove it by killing bosses, getting max stacks from Devil's Dice, using Prayer from cruse shrines sometimes, or taking "Curse of the Partisan."

When you get it, it damages you down to low health, so be sure to have some healing on hand.

Whats a cursed chest look like? They all look pretty normal to me.

also, there is a pentagram on the floor under them, so if the game sends you a chest behind a wall, you can look for that.

Ngl I literally cannot see the spikes in game.

i mean no offense when i say that unless you're colorblind you should be able to make the connection naturally
