How to disable that obnoxious chat window?

Can someone help me to find an option to disable that global chat? The last thing I want to see deep in my run is when some kid trying to be funny or edgy. It is bad enough that it is shown by default on a main screen, how can I disable it in-match or just kill it completely?

Ah, I found it. Thought that it had to be some option in game menu.

First thing I tried to turn off as well; for anyone else looking for this, there is an X that appears when you move the mouse over the chat box that allows you to close it.

If you want to disable it "permanently", you can click on the x on the top right of the main menu then LOG OUT, it'll disable multiplayer but at least the chat'll be truly gone. You won't even see it for a split second. Of course, it does not reset when you close the game.

Any time I've done that it fired my gun...

Dev should probably have a better method or leave it off on default...

Someone should probably bring this up at the Synthetik 2 community web site's forums so they don't just repeat a general chat channel that annoys people. :)

You can do it in the main menu before you start.

Alt f4 in game will do the trick

No need, game already does that trick for me. Especially when on a good run and you are about to finish it.
