Not really, a company shouldnt have easy street for decades over one product. Capitilism is make a product for a modest profit, not to enrich themselves to kindom come with billions just because its commercially used by millions and repeat said process every year with updates...
When I grew up, capitilism literraly said modest proft, the corrupt elitists slowely removed that over the ages... hence why elite are stronger than ever, buying out the world, shutting up everyone and people are fed up going into malls with an aresenal of weaponry, cuz you can't fight back

Why they dont keep selling the old version at better price then? Vegas 13 Edit Steam version was half price of this new version in my country. From $680 to $1500. The new features of 14 dont even worth double price or i care for them.

a lot of editing can be done with movie studio 13 platinum or ( suite ) .
The most exspenive car can't get you there any faster .
( assuming they follow the speed limits too )

vegas pro version's offer :
Vector scopes to meet broadcast standards
Bezeir mouse mask drawing
Extensive parent\child tracks ( for compositing )
Z axis , for x y z 3D compositing
Time Line supports 3D , make a Cube , and rotate it ( classic Sony sample project )
Import a project to a single time line ( nested project )
many more blend modes .
HEVC h.265
a few other advanced features , not sure what , at the moment .

If you don't know how to use the above vegas features , or don't use them , then
vegas pro version isn't even needed .

vegas is "Pro-consumer" product

studio 13 supports alpha channel on import , Mask Generator , Chroma keying ,
Dolby 5.1 , blu-ray , DVD mpeg_2 , uncompressed render( if you need that )
3D stereoscopic for 3D movies ( Not recommended ,,,..save your eyes )
all the basic FX video and FX audio plugins that vegas has .
Chroma key is not just green or blue , you can "eye drop" the color
you need to Cut .
studio 13 has a lot of features . ( No DVD architect for steam editon )

i am very satisfied with the features of studio 13 platinum .

No offense, but sorry not anyone can afford this kind of stuff. Even buying every game for 60$ would hurt alot even for midrange people like me who have food, clothes can afford trip once a year and I don't complain about anything, thanks to the people who can afford those programs and then share them on the internet.
