"low memory" error on sony vegas and crashes
I'm not even using half of my memory and it still crashes, I used to be able to edit perfectly fine, but ever since I tried editing a 20 minute video it crashes, now I can't even edit a 6 minute video! Not the pc, not the anti-virus system (which are usually ram hogs) I have no freaking clue how to fix it!

run "Task Manager" Options "Always On Top" so that Task Manager is on top of Vegas .
inspect System memory usage and GPU memory usage while Vegas is running .

Also , in Vegas menu :
Options-->Preferences-->Video Tab , look to see what the RAM cache value is set to .
Vegas defaults that value to only 200 Meg bytes . i have set it as much as 8 gig bytes ( 8000 )
lately i have it at 2000 ( 2 gig bytes )

motherboard System memory is 16 gig bytes .

usually , Vegas is light weight , when it comes to system memory usage .

I have 8gb of ram and when I had task manager it said that vvegas was taking up 2 gb of memory and when I look at performance, it still had 4 gb of memory but vegas still crashes and says low memory. I have set the value to 200 and it still crashes

If you have a 6-core/12-thread CPU (or more) try disabling a core (run with 5/10). This is the only way I can get any Vegas stuff to run stable.

I found a way to fix this so I'm now okay

It's a long story, to make it short, I had to make my pc allow to use all 8gb of memory ram
