Developer answer below . You can contact them throught contactus@magix.net if have any more trouble.

Method 1 :
1. Download Revo Uninstaller . You can find it here https://www.revouninstaller.com . Free version is enough .
2. After installing carefully . Open it up and start Quick Uninstall every Sony Vegas 14 you see.
3. After uninstall , go back Quick Uninstall Windows
4. Choose scanning modes : Moderate
5. Click Select All the regedit . And Deleted All .
6. Go to your Sony Vegas 14 Install folder , find every last files and deleted it
7. Re-install. If not working try method 2

*Method 2 :
1. Run regedit.
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > Sony Creative Software
3. Delete "Vegas Pro - Steam Powered" folder or "Vegas Pro"
4. After that, either just open Vegas PRO or try reinstall it.
At least this solved it for me.

P/S : *method 2 work for me . Make sure you deleted every last of sony vegas 14 files. Even after uninstall it with Steam . And never update Sony Vegas again if it pops up. Wait for steam automatically update it

well the method 1 doesn't work for me , but the second does. how about try re-install the software. I think it's just delete registery , so 2 method are the same thing , except method 2 is delete certain registry not all.

Method #2 works fine on my end. Thanks.

I've learned a valuable lesson; never update through a pop-up window.

Ayy lmao. (Btw i didn't add the fact that you need to delete the update files too. Because when you Install the update it will add extra files. so when you go to delete vegas, those files will still be there :D ) Also Method 2 didn't work for me the first time :D

Niceeee. Method 2 for the win. So yeah, Steam never bothered to add in the bit that it's a special snowflake and you can't "update" its version of Vegas through that Patch pop up. But, that was pretty painless. Well done m8.

Hello everybody,

I wish to apologize for the issues and troubles some of us had to go through after installing the last update.

The patch notified in the newsfeed was not meant to be installed on steam versions, in fact the notification took place as the result of a temporary malfunction of the newsfeed service.
We needed some time to identify the source of this issue, but dev- team assured me that by this evening it will be fixed.

For all those that have downloaded the wrong upgrade there are two possible ways to solve this issue.

Both solutions are described in the following thread:

http://steamcommunity.com/app/528200/discussions/0/2592234299563267008/

Should you need some help with the steps described in the link mentioned above, please fell free to email us at contactus@magix.net, we will gladly help you out.

Last but not least, I wish to let you all know that the update for Vegas Pro 14 (Steam Version) is been scheduled for the end of this Month :),

Cheers
magixit
