(great question as I believe that the Steam edition is actually just the "Edit" version with the DVD authoring *without* proDAD Mercalli V4 and NewBlueFX Titler Pro Express and Music Maker.

Could you confirm this??? or is there any way to obtain these extras if not through Steam (will you provide a key to install directly from you with all the extras)?

@shihuandgi not sure if that article is relevant. I did not see any references to steam at all? I know these are included if you buy Pro off the magix website, but what is unclear is if the same goes for the Steam edition. On one hand, they actually show the real "pro" box art (blue color), but on the other hand the text makes it sound like they just bundled the "edit" and "authoring" software.

VEGAS Pro on Steam is just Pro Edit with DVD Architect. You don't get the features that're exclusive to Pro, because "Pro" on Steam is just a bundle of the aforementioned two programs. If you have a prior version of VEGAS (even Movie Studio), however, then you should be eligible for a discounted upgrade to Pro directly through MAGIX's Web site. I got it for $199.00.

@kevinski thanks that is what I was afraid of. I think I'll just get the free HitFilm Express 2017 then. Seems quite comparable in features. Too bad though.

Hello everybody,

what kevinsky says is true and correct, so thank you Kevinsky for your Help :).

We have the wish to implement those plug-ins also in the steam versions, but at the moment, there are still difficulties depending on the steam platform that need to be sorted out first.
Regrettably I do not have any deadline for what concerns those implementations.

I just tested it again, just to be sure ;).

I was not on a plane dough ;), i just pulled out my network cable and disabled my network card.

If you start Steam in offline mode it will be possible to start the application without any trouble.

With the Steam version, or any other version of Vegas, I'm concerned about the ability to work from more than one computer. Will the serial number be activatable on multiple PC's? Can I use Vegas anywhere I can log into my Steam account?
