you have to use the quicktime-videoformat (.mov) or the AVI container-format if you want to export a video with transparent background.
Kind regards
Your VEGAS team
Do I have to use QuickTime or not and where can I find the AVI container-format?
Thanks.
Go into the regular "Render As" template area .
and find "Video For Windows"
the file type will be .AVI
In the drop down list of codecs , look for Uncompressed .
Below that Combo box , on the Template page , are some check boxes .
check the box that says include Alpha , by doing that , the render will be 32 bit .
The file size could be as much as 3 gig bytes per minute ( huge ) .
you will also need to make sure that the Time Line of Vegas has video in the
Alpha channel . the 4 channels are Red Green Blue Alpha .
to aid your inspection of Alpha channel content on the Time Line , use
Video FX Effect "Mask Generator" .
with "Mask Generator" , you can inspect all 4 channels for content .
i did tutorials on Alpha channel content , here in Steam .
but , for documentation within this post ,
i need to look up one more Video FX Effect
that is needed to "Stuff" video into the Alpha channel .
use Video FX Effect "Channel Blend"
to place video into the Alpha Channel ,
then use "Mask Generator" to view the channels to
see what is actually in the Alpha channel .
P..S.
Vegas can do many graphic freatues that graphics programming can do ,
without having to write any code ,...photoshop too .
