you need the Quicktime Codec to import MOV files. Please download and install the Quicktime alternative (QT7).

Kind regards
Your VEGAS team
I've got the same problem.
I also always get the "error could not be determined" message.
Are you going to get of your fat lazy arse and actually help?
file name : QuickTimeInstaller.exe
exact file size : 41,896,256 bytes ( right click Propeties to view exact file size )
version 7.79.80.95
that has been the Final version for some time now .
when you install it , be sure to install 2 items :
1. the QT Player ( Player MUST be installed , for Vegas to use the codecs )
2. the codecs
the above is Apple's web site , download for windows .
i have loaded .MOV video into Vegas , that was recorded from iPhone7
using the above QT installer .
a video sample was sent to me , i tested it for them ( been a while ago )
too cheesy . The Viewer can be placed on a seperate monitor , or the Time Line can be
placed on it's own monitor for max time line viewing ,...at least that's how Vegas used to
work . Only have one monitor at the moment . But i do use a heavitly customized layout
that involes lots of docking and undocking to get the panels in place .
i have some Vegas layout images in Steam Artwork , click the big Blue thumb to view .
