Has anyone beat this game?

I seriously don't know how this game is possible to beat when I'm getting shot through walls the majority of the time. Stuck on Level 5.

Thanks. From seeing the Let's Play of that previous edition, I am noticing some significant changes. Some of which I would have preferred they stayed, like the objective mission screen per level doesn't show up. Would be helpful for knowing if a level has a bonus weapon because I missed two guns already from my experience so far. That I miss the rapid fire version of the rocket launcher. :(
