Remember to unequip all your auto-used recover items, because they will turn into damage when you are under CURSED.
@OP, if you don't mind, could you tell me what the stats and traits are on your equipment? If it's one-shotting everyone on Easy mode, it sounds like you are lacking a lot of potential defense or HP you could have (possibly both), because the boss is survivable on Despair even when the HP debuffs are applied to your party.
Before anything else I recommend, I'll say you should give each of your characters a piece of equipment with Nullify Curse on it. The last thing you'll want to happen is to be almost done with the fight, then one of your own healing items ends up killing you. Nullify Curse can be found on an Angel Ribbon or Ares Brooch. You can also get the Benevolent Light trait in the DLC area, though it is exceedingly rare. That trait provides immunity to all status ailments, but you don't need it.
Aside from equipment, it could help you to try using items that either level up your party or level down the enemy, which can make a large difference in the amount of damage you take as well as giving you a higher max HP for the battle.
Flame of the End can have the Level Down L effect, as well as Add Break XL which deals a very large amount of break damage to the enemy. Hero's Medicine provides both Heroic Descent (large level boost) and All Stats Up L. If each of your characters have the level boost applied you should be able to survive much more easily even if you don't manage to apply Level Down L to the Light Elemental.
Depending on how good your Breezy Aroma is, you might wish to make a better one. It is good to use the traits from both a Dunkelheit and a Dunkelstern while creating it - Full of Life from the Dunkelheit revives characters from KO and removes 3 ailments at once for anyone not dead, and False Flower from the Dunkelstern provides a large stat boost and automatically revives a dead character on their next turn. The Dunkelstern cannot be used directly as part of the recipe for the Breezy Aroma, so you can turn it into a Neutralizer G first.
An ideal Breezy Aroma would have the following Effects and Traits:
Effects: Healing Aroma, HPMP Recovery S, Awakening, Activate Split
Traits: Full of Life, False Flower, Multi Bonus
If you are having trouble obtaining all of the effects at once, Healing Aroma and Activate Split are most important.
If you don't mind swapping out one party member for Cory, you can make a huge difference in your survivability by giving her one of these Breezy Aromas and having her use it every turn with Rapid Alchemy. If the Breezy Aroma has HPMP Recovery S on it, she will never run out of MP while doing this and you can have a very large amount of recovery every turn while your other characters focus on damage. This is a generally useful strategy for any fight, though it's never really required.
Thanks for all the tips, this is the most useful thing so far! I'm gonna try all that you said, especially the nullify curse thng, I hadn't considered that.
I'd pretty much given up on defeating it, but now I'm gonna give it another try :)
Good luck! I hope some of it works out for you, if you are still having trouble let me know and I'll try to give any more specific advice I can.
The Light Elemental is known for being particularly difficult, particularly because she has a lot of mechanics to her fight that a lot of other bosses don't have. It is best if you can manage to keep everyone alive and healthy, because she gains extra turns when killing someone and that is one of the biggest parts of what makes the fight even harder.
Now All I have to do is kill the demon lord and I'll have 100% the game :D
That's great, I'm glad it worked out for you! You'll probably want to keep Nullify Curse around for the Demon Lord as well - it might also help to get Nullify No Heal when you're fighting him, because he can inflict both statuses.
He can be a bit tricky, he's harder than the Light Elemental in terms of stats and whatnot but he doesn't have as many cheap mechanics in his fight.
The first half of the fight can start to get really exhausting on your supplies, but if you can manage to push through it to his final phase, it eases up for a little bit so you can recover for the final portion of the fight.
What I found weird, too, before reading this, is that I had minimal trouble taking down the Tormented Beast (or whatever the Purple Reskin of Nazarus was called), because my gear was very good. But after reading that this ♥♥♥♥♥ has mechanics that NO OTHER BOSS HAS, I was stunned, but also like "Oh, well NOW it makes sense."
Definitely going to give the aforementioned strats a try, because I know I have a good party setup. It's Sophie, Plachta, Julio (who is a pretty decent tank after upgrading), and Leon, which the last one is simply for using Ether Rose to inflict massive break. (I'm also typing this up while playing the DX version, but the strategy remains the same by the looks of things.)
I gave up in the end, good luck to you! Maybe I'll try again. It's the only achievement I need left. The light elemental is a major B word of a fight. I lost to it over 60 times. Eventually I uninstalled the game. It's ideal to do huge amounts of damage because when it's injured it gets crazy strong. After you have injured it you only have 3-4 turns to finish it off, maybe more with specific gear. the longest I've lasted is 6 turns but I lost,
Yes she is. The combination of Flame of the End and Ether Rose is a lethal break combo, but the problem is once momentum swings ever slightly her way, the fight is over. I'm gonna just bull-rush my head into the wall trying this again and again. I do have nullify curse on everyone's accessories, but I may just need to go for the Benevolent Light trait in the Hidden Archive (that's the official title for the DLC area), which I've called the World of Dreams and Nightmares. But who would've guessed that this level 28 boss would be the absolute hardest one in the whole game.
She's a killer that's for sure, I'm gonna reinstall the game and give it another go. Literally the last thing to 100% completion. I bought the sequel and that's great but atelier series I like to 100%. But one thing is just so impossible, even on easy. (for me anyway) Hope you get her! ^-^
Something I found, and this may have just been the RNG playing to my favor, but I did best her. And I think something that may help is using Plachta, Harol, and Cory.
It was mostly just bull-rushing into the wall, but constantly spamming Cory with the Dupe & Breezy Aroma did wonders. I didn't even need to use Hero Medicine, when I had Plachta and Sophie both using heavy damage items.
My advice would be make sure you have Dragonscale Defense, Well Rounded Power, and another trait on the armor, with similar traits on the weapons, and do not underestimate the traits that deal massive damage with the attack items, like Big Destruction. Multi-turn damage items can keep the pressure on her, and if you luck out in inflicting curse onto her, as rare a chance as it might be, and as quickly as she can recover from it, you might be able to beat her. Make sure to use Harol's Meteor Blast and Trick throw, though, because he gains significant advantage over her from those two, and even on the final stage of the fight, when she invokes Eternal Barrier, that skill still does around 90-100 damage.
Good luck to you, and hope you can best her. I'm now on the Demon King, and i'm going to be using a similar strategy.
