Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis was a game I loved on PS2, turn based battles, loved farming and collecting to try and make new alchemy recipes.

Looking through the pictures and such, little confused. Is this anything like it?

It's exactly like it the Mana Khemia are also part of the Atelier series from the same company this is a newer game in the same series.

Mana Khemia was a spin-off series to the Atelier series. :) Story wise the Atelier series focuses mainly on one (usually female) alchemist and their daily life in their atelier, it's very slice of life-ish, there's not much of an epic heroes' journey here, but gameplay-wise the two series are pretty much the same. Heavy focus on gathering and synthesizing items with a rather simple turn-based battle system. It's a very laid-back and relaxed JRPG, perfect after a long day of work. ;) The Atelier games also got multiple endings, depending on what you do and who you befriend. :D
