Monks arent Battlemages.
I recently unlocked the Monk class in this game and i was very disappointed, for him to work right you need to either play him with Strength or intelligence, for damage, their speed is decent enough but their awareness shouldnt be that low.

You know different games and lores can percieve what monks are right? Monks represent a balance between strength of body and mind sometimes. Those stats are fine, monks dont aways have to be fleet of foot kung fu masters.

A hero need 1 stat to be really useful.
Secondary stat mostly use for occasionally event challenge.

I disagree monk need awareness.
Not all monks are agile.

a bit late maybe, but i wanna point out that some weapons like the quarterstaff is a typical monk weapon. and quarterstaff goes on awareness
Edit: Monks are also about finesse, not brute force, like the other strength based classes

In game, he looks exactly as strong as any other character. To me, all the classes have pretty much the same body proportions.
And hey, he looks more muscled than a skeleton!

I fully agree, I find Western monks to be very interesting. They kind of look like a White Mage.

The man in that picture specifically, obviously does not look physically strong. I was looking for a picture as an example that oriental/eastern style monks are not the only monks on the planet. Would you prefer I find another picture?

Besides this, the FTK universe does not necessarily follow real world examples. So trying so apply our stereotypes is not suitable anyways.

Indeed. For some reason whenever I think monk I think wine.
And I don't even drink wine!

I would say that is not true FireGryph. every other character in the game has their stereotype, for example: the scholar is a mage with intelligence, because it would be dumb for it to be a strength-based character. the hunter is has awareness and speed because he is aware of his surroundings and a fleet foot. i am aware that there are other monks in the world, but there are none other who fits the character better than the eastern monks. and as the other characters fit their stereotype, so should the monk. for strength is a stat, based on brute force (at least in this game) as proved with the blacksmith and woodcutter. they both want to hit hard so they can smith weapons and chop wood. and monks do not go for brute force. they take their own strength and use it to focus weakpoints in opponents, much like the monks in DnD whom use Dexterity as their fighing ability.

Ah, but each or those classes you listed has a reason for what stats they have. Exactly as you said. However, what are monks in this game? Do they following the lifestyle of real life eastern monks? Do they follow the lifestyle of western monks? Or something entirely different? What are monks in Fahrun dedicated to in their lives? Perfection of self? Are they studious and bookworms, that understand the world they live in is harsh and thus they train their physical bodies as well as their minds?
What I'm saying is, monks are generally people that have dedicated their lives to something, so its a question of what have the monks in this game dedicated themselves to?

We can't say. The developers would know.
